Got out today with hunting buddy, Juan. first we hit an old house site. we have both hunted this site before but this time the city is building nearby. so there has been some scraping on this site. we both were finding wheat cents and ofcourse a few modern coins. I decided to grid an area on the edge of a scraping where a row of monkey grass was growing. the plan worked in my favor. more OLDER wheats were coming up and then I get a SCREAMING 12-47 which i generally call a quarter signal. to my suprise out pops a NICE sterling silver ring. which is also stamped 10K. we think it was plated and possibly an old High School ring, from the design. by this time one of the workers noticed us and walked over to talk. he told us about a city owned lot across the street ( which both of us have drooled over ) we make our way over and start searching it. here I ended up with a trade token, a merc, and my first 1800s copper, 1889 Indian.
