Had a few days off , so i scooped up my huntin buddy and we were off to see what we could dig up. First spot was an old pre turn of the Century home site. Was expecting a rough hunt here because of the ever present IRON nulls. But it was not too bad. Shortly after arriving, i get a screaming penny signal!! Thinking it could be a wheat, or junk... I ofcourse investigate.. To my SUPRISE out pops my 2nd Seated Dime. An 1876. WOW !! I was pumped then. After meandering, yet methodically..:). I get another SCREAMER but jumpy #'s. 01-42 at best. I have seen this ALOT. Told Juan, " guess I'll dig this aluminum can.. Finally getting through the top layer of ground cover and roots I see a LARGE silver rim. From the passed out position on the ground, i call for my buddy. The whole way he kept saying, "quit playing" cover the hole, throw away the can!! Lol. Wat a day this was.
Well after phone calls and pics it was lunch time. The next site was a bust.
Hitting our 3rd site would be good again. Scored a 1903 IHC, 1948 Rosie , 1899 V nickle and the SLQ made an appearance too.
This was an awesome day of diggN. One I will NEVER forget.
