Out detecting with my dad again. Hitting the old lots again, plus an OLD sidewalk strip across the road. Super trashy most of the way but did get a deep quarter signal on the E-Trac. 7-8 inches later out pops a large copper disc. WOW! A token, no wait.... It has a few legible letters of the word-- America!! It's my first dug LC. Verrrry smooth.. Probably will never get a date on it.. But oh well.
My dad called me the night before and told me he has driven by a few recently torn down houses.. City projects, in old section of town. So without hesitation, I told him that I would pick him up and we could hit them before fill dirt is spread out. Wasn't the easiest hunt, muddy!! But did manage a few keepers. All and all, had a great time out sharing my hobby and spending time with DAD. Got a late start on this hunt, but boy was it a good one. Drving around, "free styling" for a vacant lot.. We decided to hit one we searched earlier. The sites we search are mostly early 1900s city tear downs. So the surface trash is abundant. But its good too... Because of shallow goodies and eyeball finds. This lot gave up 3 mercs to me, a couple wheaties and 2 nice marbles. We broke for lunch and on the way to another site, we spot a new "OLD" tear down. Juan got on board with the first silver dime here. But 3 feet over from his covered up hole.... I get a 6" 12-43 on my E Trac. Yep!!! 1912 Barber dime. As soon as i began swinging again i get a slamming 08-48. Deep!! And yes, my 9th. Silver half. |
